large number of San Francisco residents were present
for the opening of the Endemic Butterflies of
Cuba collection of paintings by Antonio
Guerrero, one of the five Cuban anti-terrorists

THE
case of the Cuban 5 is known by unions across
Canada, the United Kingdom and other countries
because on several occasions the mothers and wives
of the Five have been invited to speak at labor
conferences in those countries. And now in the
United States, for the first time, hundreds of women
from the United Steelworkers (USW) got to hear about
the injustice committed against the Five and their
families.

René González has sent a moving letter to his
brother Roberto who is gravely ill with cancer. The
same day, through his lawyer, he filed a motion
requesting permission to travel to Cuba and visit
his brother in a Havana hospital. The motion notes
that these types of requests for international
travel by individuals on parole have been granted in
the past. The judge has not yet responded to the
motion

distorting events

The Cuban Interests Section here in the U.S. capital
denounced an editorial in The Washington Post
which distorts events related to Cuba, including the
prosecution of Alan Gross and the case of the Five
Cuban anti-terrorists incarcerated in the United
States.
